We were delighted to see our Global Head of Climate Change and ESG Transition, Paul Watchman as a feature panelist at the Net Zero Investor’s Annual Conference 2022, celebrating the launch of www.netzeroinvestor.com.
This multi-disciplined, international conference (which took place on 12 December 2022) involved a series of investor roundtables, discussions and virtual debates set around answering some of the most pressing issues facing investors and asset managers in the net zero transition, from laying out a clear roadmap of how to get to net zero, to adequately support financial institutions and better understanding the shifting needs and desires of investors.
Paul participated in a fascinating debate “Is ESG Investing a Dangerous Placebo and an Agent of Political Bias?” with Tariq Fancy, answering the questions:
- What do these critiques mean for the future of responsible investment practices;
- What does this mean for financial institutions; and
- Will “ESG 2.0” come to the rescue?
Paul was joined in this crucial discussion by Alex Edmans (London Business School, author and professor of finance), Nazmeera Moola (Chief Sustainability Officer, Ninety One) and Wilhelm H Mohn (Global Head of Corporate Governance, Norges Bank Investment Management).
